Woodstock

The original Woodstock property was named after a medieval town in Oxfordshire, England, Woodstock Estate was eventually purchased by the late Doug Collett in 1973. A fighter pilot originally, Doug immersed into oenology after serving during World War II and was awarded an A.M in 1985 for his contribution in the Australian wine industry. The winery is currently run by his middle son, Scott Collett – his close proximity and deep understanding of these vineyards over many years has allowed him to maintain the strict quality benchmarks of maximum flavour and intensity for which the Woodstock Estate is rightly known.

Wirra Wirra

Wirra Wirra was originally established in 1894 by South Australian eccentric cricketer, Robert Strangways Wigley. The winery prospered and produced many wines including a much acclaimed Shiraz until his death in 1925. Eventually, the winery ran into disrepair and was eventually abandoned. In 1969, under the watchful eye of the late Greg Trott and his first cousin Roger, the winery was rebuilt from the remnants of the original two walls and some slate fermenting tanks. In 2012, Wirra Wirra celebrated 40 years of Church Block – an Australian favourite!

Wirra Wirra R.S.W. Shiraz has been included at the Excellent level of the Langton’s Classification. Langton’s Classification is a ‘form guide’ of Australia’s best performing and most prized wines, and is arguably the most famous and widely respected wine classification outside Europe.
