Wantirna Estate Yarra Valley Australia www.wantirnaestate.com.au

Wantirna Estate was the first of the new generation vineyards in Yarra Valley, having been an important grape growing area since the 1800s. Established in 1963 by husband and wife, Reg and Bertina Egan, the winery remains a family business with their daughter, Maryann as the current chief winemaker. Drawing from inspirations from small domains and chateaux of Burgundy and Bordeaux, as well as their personal experiences, the father and daughter team have built a cult following of their artisanal wines.

Wantirna Cabernet Merlot has been included at the Excellent level of the Langton’s Classification. Langton’s Classification is a ‘form guide’ of Australia’s best performing and most prized wines, and is arguably the most famous and widely respected wine classification outside Europe.
